What is ESOL and its Significance for Citizenship and ILR

ESOL is English for Speakers of Other Languages. This is useful If you are applying for either

1. Indefinite leave to remain (Permanent Residency) or
2. British citizenship (UK nationality)

What is ESOL and how it  help with Life in the UK test ?

If your level of English is ESOL Entry 3 or above you can take the Citizenship test. If your level of English is lower than ESOL Entry 3, then you will need to attend combined English language (ESOL) and citizenship classes instead of doing the test. These courses are run by local further education or community colleges.
