If you are planning to live in London or the UK, It’s always a good idea to be a British Citizen. This not only gives you the ability to have 2 passports, it enable travel and settlement throughout Europe an easy task.

One important obstacle you need to get clear of, on your way to this goal is the Life in the UK test.

It’s a simple 24 multiple choice question exam, which requires you to answer 18 questions correctly in order to achieve a pass mark of 75%. This looks like a very high percentage but it’s only 18 out of 24 question that you need to get right, and you get 45 minutes to do this. On average, well prepared people complete this test in 5-7 minutes. When you finish the exam, you are informed of your result as either pass or fail. You never get to know how many questions you got correct or how many were incorrect.

Some people study very hard for this, and find it very disappointing when the exam is extremely simple. Some people have to attempt the exam a number of times. This is completely unnecessary in my opinion. Please make use of all the free material on this site so that you have a slight advantage when you take the Life in the UK test. All questions are from chapters 2-6 of Life in the UK: A Journey to Citizenship 2007: A Book Review

There are many good free resources available on the Internet. However you should be very careful with some of these resources, as they present you with 1000s of multiple choice questions. This is simply too much for a simple exam like this. All the best and if you are still thinking about it, just go for it !
