Students, entrepreneurs, and workers will discover it is tougher to gain residency in the United Kingdom
In order to settle down in Britain, whether as an entrepreneur, student, or worker, is turning out to be harder after the introduction of a series of changes.
Through various tiers it is possible to migrate to the United Kingdom. Whereas in Tier 1, entrepreneurs are going to discover a route, workers that are skilled can submit an application using Tier 2 and Tier 4 is where students will be directed to/
All these routes have been passed through changes, and a reduction in the quantity of applicants that are successful has now resulted. The government of the United Kingdom stated that total quantity of applications has been drastically reduced by one third and has been slashed to a quantity that since 1990 has not been so.
Entrepreneurs
The Tier 1 visa for Entrepreneurs is for overseas businesspersons who are not from within the European Union seeking to make investments inside the United Kingdom. An applicant should in majority of the situations reveal that they are capable of making an investment into a business of at least £200,000. However in a restricted amount of cases it could be acceptable to make an investment of just £50,000.
Based on the government of Britain, the implementation of these measures were in a bid to reduce misuse of the programmes on immigration and get genuine candidates filtered out.
As a result, the present rate of rejection of those submitting applications through this scheme is about 7 out of 10.
A lot of the applications which are genuine and forwarded by businessmen with experience get turned down. It appeared that the Home Office was turning down the applications for no justifiable reasons because they were under pressure from their government to strive to reduce the immigration levels into the United Kingdom at all costs.
Workers that are skilled
Under the programme for Tier 2, immigrants can send applications for a vacancy in the United Kingdom if that vacancy cannot be occupied by a worker that is settled.
But, this right will from next year be put strictly on reserve for workers that are on high income, because £35,000 would be the minimum income that would be required.
Additionally, firms are being put under higher pressure to abide by the stipulations for employing a worker from overseas because government is carrying out rounds of inspection actively.
Also, the total volume of settlement of migrants is aimed at being curbed by this measure.
The enforcement of Tier 2 sponsorship license requirements are becoming increasingly tougher by authorities.
Ali stated that a very aggressive attitude was being taken by the Home Office when decisions were being made on whether or not sponsorship licenses were to be revoked. A lot of the decisions on the suspension and revocation of sponsorship licenses for Tier 2 were truly unfair. He stated further that even workers who had been working very hard to abide with the regulations for Tier 2 sponsorship license were having their licenses for sponsorships revoked.
Students
Overseas students who desired to further their education in the United Kingdom can send their applications using Tier 4.
Even though this used to be a stepping stone previously to a likely job offer and indefinite leave to stay, students are now going to be forced to go out of the country immediately they have finished their educational studies.
This year from November students going through this tier would not be permitted anymore to have their visas switched whenever they get an employment after finishing their educational studies. Making applications for any different visa would not have to be done from overseas, which would force graduates to first leave the country.
From that date also, college students on Tier 4 will not be permitted any longer to have their visas extended after the completion of their courses, except the start taking studies at a school which has a link that is direct and formal with a university in the United Kingdom.
Moreover, the period graduates can utilize at a college for further education has been brought down to 2 years from 3 years, even though a lot of the courses on further education last for longer than 2 years.
Government stated that the focus of the changes was to stop nationals from overseas who look at studying as a reason to want to settle down in the country.
The effect of the changes is on the reduction of the quantity of graduates who are skilled from abroad employed in the United Kingdom as a result of the increased inconvenience in the process.
