It is very important to use the 3rd edition, as this is the newest version of the book. The test was completely changed in 2013 and only the 3rd edition will have these changes.

Chapter 1: The Values and Principles of the UK. This chapter contains information about becoming a citizen or permanent resident, as well as things you will need to know to take the Life in the United Kingdom test.

Chapter 2: What is the UK, contains information about the countries that make up Britain.

Chapter 3: A Long and Illustrious History. This section contains basic information on the history of Britain from the earliest times through the present day.

Chapter 4: A Modern, Thriving Society, contains information about British culture and daily living. This includes festivals and holidays, arts, religion, and sports, among other topics.

Chapter 5: The UK Government, the Law, and Your Role will tell you about the laws and government of Britain. There is also information on voting, working, and driving in Britain. It is wise to review this section carefully, as the legal system may be very different from your home country.
