Where is the most difficult driving test in the United Kingdom?

Ever since tests for driving became mandatory for every new driver in the United Kingdom it has been 80 years. But is there actually any need to be particular where the dreaded examination is undertaken by you?

Palms that are sweaty, a heart that is pounding? It is an influential point in an individual’s existence when they are administered their driving assessment.

Excel and you are compensated with liberty, vocation prospects and novel acquaintances who require lifts. Fail at it and you are abandoned with the disgrace of failure, a dependence on municipal means of transportation and an overpowering sense of regret.

The DVSA (Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency) states that tutors are frequently examined to make sure that examinations are the same all over the nation. However, does this mean that the examination place is not relevant?

Sandra Macdonald-Ames an Advanced Driving Examiner who was the driving specialist in So You Think You Can Drive the documentary on BBC stated that assessment venues with elevated rates of passes have a tendency of being in areas at the countryside.

She stated that students in areas in the countryside are in actual fact studying routes in a surrounding that is fairly predictable.

If they practised between 20 and 30 hours they were no doubt going to complete all the countryside roads at a particular time. There are no unpleasant shocks.

She stated that there are continuously changing scenarios with many dangers in major towns.

Because it was more random, there was the probability that candidates were going to make mistakes because making decisions required to be more concise, she stated.

If a candidate paused in London at an intersection they would be listed on the reports for traffic for congestion on Radio 2. If anyone paused in an area at the countryside, no one actually takes note because on the queue there are three vehicles.

Data for 2013 to 2014 obtained from DVSA reveal that even though the mean pass mark was 47.1 percent, a person was about 15 percent marks more probable to not pass if they were administered their examination in Belvedere in Bexley a London borough.

The location is encompassed by housing roads with lanes that are not wide in addition to superior speed A routes like the A206 and A220.

However Mark Hewitt who discontinued taking applicants to the examination centre at Belvedere 12 months ago due to its status stated that it was not the overactive roads that made it difficult.

He stated that he did not feel that it was the examination centre; he stated that it was the examiners.

Some of them were okay, but the remaining ones simply did not make light conversation. They were very subdued. Students had to see that the examination administrators were people also.

Out of the 10 places with the smallest pass marks in 2014, one was in Luton, one was in Leeds, three were in the Birmingham area, and five were in London.

At the extreme side of the scale, applicants who sat for their examination on islands off the Scottish coast were more probably going to experience success.

Eighty percent of the 10 applicants who were administered their examination at the Isle of Mull qualified, while in Brodick 38 out of 52 passed, and at Barra those that passed were seven out of nine.

An instructor for 12 years who resides close to the test centre of Isle of Mull is Gordon Rae. He stated that he was informed by the DVSA some years ago that examinations on the islands were probably going to be stopped due to their not being sufficiently difficult.

He stated that there were no dual carriageways, roundabouts, or traffic lights.

When you are employed in this vocation one had to know about them, he stated.

He had requests from individuals who were resident on the mainland but desired to come over to Mull due to the fact that the rate of excellence was much improved. However he did not agree to perform it for the reason that he believed in the philosophy that when an applicant has an examination, they had to be prepared for it.

They could probably excel in Mull however when they went to one of the large towns they would resemble a fish that was no longer in its water. It was a crash that was waiting to occur.

In England, the examination centre at Kendal in the Lake District produced the top quantity of qualifications with a success rate of 70.8 percent.

The manager of Jan’s Driving School in Cumbria Jan Walker stated that a lot of individuals requested if they could be administered their examination at Kendal for the reason that they believed that it was simpler.

She stated that Kendal had a lot of guests so there was the occurrence of some hold-ups.

It was a one-way routine and one could get trapped in traffic a little bit.

When one was lining up in traffic there was not much thinking that needed to be done. The vehicles ahead of you are reducing their speeds.

When one was on a road that was moving fast they had to be in constant thought about this much faster.

A spokesperson for DVSA stated that pass marks could be affected by different factors but did not want to admit if it was simpler to excel at some examination centres over other examination centres.

A spokeswoman stated that a few people took extra lessons and were more readier for the examination.

Factors based on statistics could equally have a role to play because the quantity of examinations administered at various examination centres differ considerably.

They educated examiners to a peak standard and monitored their activities closely to make sure that every examination was administered uniformly all over the nation.
